Singer, songwriter and producer, Cavetown (Robin Skinner), is set to release his eagerly anticipated new album ‘Running With Scissors’ on January 16th. He shares new single ‘Tarmac’ alongside details of a major international headline tour for 2026.

‘Tarmac’, co-written with Orla Gartland, follows the rapturously received singles ‘Rainbow Gal’ and  ‘Baby Spoon’, and is indicative of Cavetown’s bold new era. His core indie-pop sound is infused with expansive textures ranging from grunge guitar to sweet swathes of vocal harmonies and unexpected sonics that reflect his love of the unpredictability of hyperpop and the intensity of post-hardcore. Thematically, it extends his raw confessionals into a place in which love is complicated: wanting something to be forever, fearing it’s over, and trying to suppress the negative thoughts that flood his consciousness as a result.

Cavetown recently joined Pierce The Veil as a special guest on their run of European arena dates. During the London stop at the OVO Arena Wembley, their vocalist Vic Fuentes joined him on stage for a very special performance of ‘a kind thing to do’, their collaboration from Cavetown’s 2022 album ‘worm food’.

The forthcoming album, ‘Running With Scissors’ sees Cavetown present a sweeping reflection on growth, identity, and the beauty of coming into one’s own. He uses intimate storytelling to explore themes of love, masculinity, vulnerability, and connection, while also turning toward the heavier realities of anxiety, self-doubt, and navigating life as a trans artist. Threaded throughout is a sense of reimagining adulthood, grappling with family, memory, and the process of self-parenting. If his previous music created a sanctuary, this record dares to ask: what happens when you step outside of that room and look yourself squarely in the eye?

‘Running With Scissors’ is available to pre-order HERE. Limited edition physical formats include a black-and-blue cornetto vinyl packaged with a ‘Baby Spoon’ flexidisc, which is available from his official store, while Rough Trade offer a blue-and-black splatter vinyl.

This new chapter in the Cavetown journey will extend a story which has taken him from roots as a bedroom pop musician in Cambridge to becoming an internationally beloved artist – in the process exceeding 2 billion streams, six RIAA Platinum-certified tracks, and raising over $650,000 for LGBTQ+ organisations via his This Is Home initiative.
