ALSO CONFIRMED TO PLAY TO 50,000+ FANS ACROSS FOUR IRISH SHOWS IN 2026 THEIR BIGGEST HEADLINE SHOWS TO DATE

“A modern addition to the Irish folk canon. 100%.” – The Guardian

“This is a constantly impressive debut LP from one of the most exciting Irish acts in recent years…. The start of something truly exciting.” – Clash

August 26, 2025 — 2025 has seen Kingfishr rise from under the radar to become a massive mainstream proposition. The year has seen them land their first #1 single, ‘Killeagh’ (the biggest hit from a domestic artist in recent memory, with five weeks at #1 during a 21 week run in the Top 10 to date) and schedule two huge homecoming shows at Dublin’s 3Arena while also selling out gigs across the UKIrelandNorth America and Europe. Now the trio have achieved another landmark moment with the release of their eagerly anticipated debut album ‘Halcyon’.

Kingfishr’s rise has been built on the strongest of foundations: rousing hooks channelling fervent emotions that inspire huge singalongs at live shows, supported by the familiarity of their traditional Irish roots and the accessibility of their broader folk-pop / indie-pop soundscape. Those traits tower throughout ‘Halcyon’, which features many of their biggest songs to date including ‘Killeagh’, their most streamed track ‘Eyes Don’t Lie’, and the live favourites ‘Caroline’ and ‘Shot In The Dark’.

The band commented, “‘Halcyon’ is the culmination of three year’s work, though most of the time it hasn’t felt like it.  We grew up in different parts of rural Ireland though the band itself was born on a dairy farm in Tipperary.  The songs were written in a small kitchen where generations of farmers became singers and storytellers when the work was done.

The name ‘Halcyon’ is a nod to the landscape and heritage that has moulded our music, even though the songs don’t all come from a happy or peaceful place. We’re so proud of all of this. Thank you for being a part of it. On and up!”

‘Halcyon’ also introduces an array of new material, led by the new focus track ‘21’. It encapsulates so much of what makes Kingfishr stand-out: their touching blend of bittersweet nostalgia and poignant sentimentality, jangly indie-folk melodies built for late summer, and the sweet vocal harmonies that enshroud Eddie Keogh’s gritty baritone.

The album’s other new songs span the sonic spectrum, from the solemn slowburner ‘Ways To Change’ to the uplifting energy of ‘Blue Skies’ and the spiralling drama of ‘Someday’. Its final song, ‘Schooldays’, ends the set on an optimistic high as with the compelling reminder that “Roses rise in the darkest of places.”

The ‘Halcyon’ album is now available to buy HERE. The band’s official store offers some exclusive limited edition signed formats in the shape of stone-colour vinyl and a CD.

The band’s cultural impact in Ireland was recently underlined when RTÉ enlisted Kingfishr to be part of their coverage of the All Ireland finals – the nation’s biggest sporting event of the year. They filmed the band performing ‘Killeagh’ live, which they cut with highlights of this year’s GGA Championship.

Kingfishr will celebrate the release of ‘Halcyon’ by playing a long sold-out headline show at Limerick’s Live At The Docklands. Today they also start their intimate ‘Halcyon’ acoustic tour which sees them perform a run of intimate instore and outstore shows across Ireland and the UK.

The remainder of the year continues with hectic touring. It starts with a month of North American touring, split between headline shows and gigs as guests to Dylan GossettNovember then brings an extended European and UK headline tour, which includes their two biggest London shows to date at the O2 Kentish Town Forum. All roads lead to two nights at Dublin’s 3Arena, where a second show was added after the first 14,500 capacity gig rapidly sold-out. Big plans are taking shape for 2026, when the band will play their biggest shows so far to more than 50,000 fans over four nights in Ireland

Throughout, Kingfishr have been surprising fans with pop-up shows, ranging from impromptu outdoor performances to late night pub jam sessions and house parties. A particular highlight came when they were asked to send an advance copy of ‘Next To Me’ to be used as a first dance – only for the trio to make a surprise appearance as the wedding band instead!
