November 14, 2025 — There’s something timeless about the rush of young love—the way small moments feel infinite, and the world seems to shrink to just two people. This is the kind of magic that I.O.D captures in their latest single “langit at lupa”, a feel-good alt-rock anthem that radiates warmth, nostalgia, and sincerity.
Formed in 2021, I.O.D is a self-producing pop and alternative rock band composed of Jae (vocals/guitar), James (lead guitar/vocals), Xyan (bass), and Cent (drums). Short for In Our Dreams, the band’s name mirrors their journey—four friends chasing the dream of making music that connects. During the pandemic, they began crafting songs that reflect their shared experiences, shaping a sound that feels both emotionally raw and refreshingly honest.
“langit at lupa” was first written in 2021, at the height of OPM’s resurgence, and takes inspiration from the classic Filipino children’s game of the same name. The band reimagines that sense of playfulness and innocence through shimmering guitar lines, soaring vocals, and an anthemic chorus that feels like falling in love for the first time.
Originally released as a synth-pop solo track by lead vocalist MJ, the song has evolved into a full-band version that now closes every I.O.D live set—a crowd favorite that perfectly captures who they are as artists: heartfelt, hopeful, and grounded in authenticity. Their single “langit at lupa” is also featured on Off The Record’s Fresh OPM Finds Mixtape #2, placing I.O.D among the most promising emerging acts in today’s local scene.
From joining competitions like Globe’s GoJam Onstage Songwriting Contest to honing their sound in countless jam sessions, I.O.D has built their identity on passion and persistence. With “langit at lupa”, they offer not just a love song, but a snapshot of who they are—four dreamers turning memories into melodies, reminding listeners that sometimes, love can feel like heaven and earth finally meeting halfway.
