Written and produced by Joji, “PIXELATED KISSES” marks a sonic return to form. Joji’s quintessential pared-down vocals unite with a gritty trap beat. Yeat fits seamlessly into Joji’s lo-fi ecosystem with a complimentary hook that amplifies the song’s successes; the resulting track is some of the most haunting, moody, and indelible hip-hop of 2025. The remix is accompanied by a mind-melting, James Mao-directed music video with a candy-colored pixelated video treatment and appearance from Yeat.
This remix follows the announcement of Joji’s fourth studio album, Piss In The Wind, out February 6, 2026 via Palace Creek. Earlier this fall, he also shared singles “If It Only Gets Better” and “Past Won’t Leave My Bed.”
Piss In The Wind bridges Joji’s sonic past and present balancing melancholic, brooding writing with gritty yet atmospheric production. “If It Only Gets Better,” recalls Joji’s lo-fi roots, weaving acoustic guitar with syncopated bass and soaring harmonies. It’s accompanied by a James Mao-directed video, that playfully nods to his BALLADS 1 breakthrough “YEAH RIGHT,” counterbalancing frenetic, clubby visuals with minimal but ruminative lyrics. While “Past Won’t Leave My Bed,” is a strong ballad that mirrors the sentiment of “Glimpse of Us.” Since their release, Joji’s past three releases have amassed 138M+ streams to date.
More to come from Joji in 2026.
