October 6, 2025 — Fresh off the success of her debut single “LASING NA SA’YO,” singer-songwriter LU delivers another anthem for the heartbroken with “AYOKONG UMASA.” This marks her second release under Off The Record and Sony Music Entertainment Philippines, solidifying her place as one of the most exciting young voices in OPM today.

Raised in San Luis, Aurora and now based in Cubao, Quezon City, LU grew up by the river, where music became her way of processing emotions and telling her stories. She started writing songs at just 12 years old, carrying the imprint of her coastal hometown into the raw honesty of her work. Moving to the city sharpened that voice even further, creating the blend of grit and vulnerability that defines her sound.

Her first single “LASING NA SA’YO” didn’t just introduce her to the scene—it put her front and center. The track landed LU on the cover of Spotify’s Fresh Finds Philippines, debuting at #1, and was featured on playlists like EQUALOPM Says ChillaxOPM Rising, and New Music Friday. In just one release, LU became the kind of artist whose songs already feel like future karaoke staples, the ones you’ll hear belted out in bars and late-night drinking sessions.

If “LASING NA SA’YO” was the drunk dial, “AYOKONG UMASA” is the morning after. It’s a raw alt-rock anthem for anyone done holding on to false hope. Written in the haze of a breakup, the song takes the sting of being replaced and turns it into a cathartic scream-along. With its crashing guitars and chorus made to be shouted from the gut, it’s the kind of track you blast in the car until you finally believe you deserve better.

With two heartbreak anthems already under her belt, LU isn’t just telling her story—she’s giving us the songs we’ll keep coming back to, long after the last round is over.
