Released only in 2024 as his first-ever single, “Lalim” began as a personal serenade and quickly captured the hearts of listeners nationwide, debuting at #1 on Spotify’s Viral 50 Philippines and now amassing over 36 million streams on Spotify. MATÉO’s other singles have also found remarkable success: “Pinipili” has surpassed 5 million streams, “Tungo” has over 1 million streams, and his recent remake of the OPM classic “Bato Sa Buhangin” has captured the hearts of a new generation of listeners. MATÉO’s musical journey began in grade school and developed at Kundirana, La Salle Greenhills’ prestigious music ministry known for producing icons like Gary Valenciano and Ogie Alcasid.
