Meet the Bard About to Shake Up the Indie Folk Scene in the Philippines and Beyond

LISTEN TO HATTUS HERE

April 7, 2025 — In the world once called Hattus, four bards from long ago roamed its lands with boundless curiosity. Setheo alone remains, singing among the trees to the land below. Their music is woven from the echoes of their adventures, an ode to fleeting encounters with prey and predators, ballads of those afflicted with malediction, and hymns to the lives that have touched their own. Each note is a thread in the grand, eternal tapestry of Hattus, a world that now lingers only in memory and song.

Many who hear their songs mistake “Hattus” for Setheo’s name, unaware that it is the vast world they call home. But Setheo never corrects them, finding amusement in the misconception. What matters is the story they tell, and Setheo’s journey is far from over. With an instrument in hand and a heart full of wonder, they continue to gather untold stories, waiting to be spun into song. Wherever the wind takes them next, their melodies will linger long after Time, carried by forests, rivers, and the hearts of those who’ve listened.

And now, the legends and tales of Hattus are set to travel even further. This month, Setheo signed with Off The Record and Sony Music Entertainment Philippines under the name Hattus. The bard’s next tale will take shape as an indie folk EP, blending storytelling and theatrical music into an immersive experience for listeners. The first song of the three-song EP will be released on May 2, 2025. Fans of indie folk and narrative-driven music should be ecstatic, as Setheo is ready to carry Hattus’ name even further.
