In our society where everyone is struggling to be part of the popular group and jump on the bandwagon there are still those who march to the beat of their own drum and bang their heads to their own kind of music.<\/span>

<\/span>Thank God for Rakista Radio<\/a> who proudly plays 100% Pinoy Rock Music 24\/7. No bubble gum Pop from other countries or an order of Korean boy band in this radio station.\u00a0<\/span>

<\/span>While Rakista Radio is known for their support of under ground and up and coming local bands they are also known for their unapologetic, no holds barred humor (no bleeps either) but that just makes the Rakista Radio experience true and unique.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

I was genuinely excited when I found out that two of my favorite OPM bands (Gracenote and Save Me Hollywood-which I blog about a lot) will be performing for the Rakista Radio ‘Jam Tayo’ event which would be held at Crosspoint Bar in Cainta – which is like a stone’s throw away from where we live. There was no need to travel to traffic or the big city buildings since the event was going to be in my home town of Rizal at the Crosspoint Bar (formerly Simplicio Elegante). It was impossible for us not to drop by even if Paul did have work at 11:30PM which was ultimately the reason why we weren’t able to finish the event \ud83d\ude41 Apologies to Rakista Radio – we promise to make it up to you with the photos and hopefully this blog post \ud83d\ude09\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

I was really impressed with the Crosspoint Bar, while there are still some rough patches that needed fixing. The acoustics of the place was really good and you could appreciate the music better. There was a big enough space from the stage to the tables and chairs and for people to form a mosh pit and to literally slam around with each other. Speaking of mosh pit there was an energetic crowd of slamming into each other and the people of just letting the music take over them as they did a mix of a dance and a street fight. Hey as long as every one is happy and no one get’s hurt right? \ud83d\ude09 To each his own after all.\u00a0<\/span>

<\/span>The food and drinks are affordable also! I ordered pancit canton for less than P200 and everyone in our table was able to eat! \ud83d\ude42\u00a0<\/span>

<\/span>Speaking of drinks – there were also fun drinking games, where in the ladies where invited to a little Red Horse chugging game and well I can say that the ladies did not\u00a0disappoint.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Even though we had to leave early since Paul still had work at 11:30PM, I applaud the organizers of the event for keeping Pinoy Rock Music alive. Paul said that he felt ‘biten’ ‘biten sa alak’ (Thank you Red Horse!) and ‘biten sa tugtugan’ hopefully next time there is a Rakista Radio event we will be available to see it all the way through. (Is that true though? Is there such a thing as getting a headache because you did not have enough alcohol?)<\/span>

<\/span>In the mean time Paul and I would continue giving our support for OPM through photography and blogging. Keep on checking the blog for updates and features on up and coming OPM artists as well as different OPM gigs and events \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
