Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson bring their “Ragnarok” charm and chemistry to another franchise as they put themselves in the suit and put on the sunglasses for Men In Black: International. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It does<\/em> take a while for the film to get off the ground and the first act is not really as engaging. The plot is fairly predictable but the reveal is still fun to watch. You can’t deny the chemistry between Hemsworth & Thompson who go through the film without missing a beat. Which is probably why the film picks up pace when the two very <\/em>different (he is a legend in the agency, who has a shoot-now-think-later approach to everything and she is the smart and determined rookie who found the agency all on her own!). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film opens with two very important events in Agent H (Hemsworth) and Agent M’s (Thompson) lives. These events serve as keys which will later unlock a couple of mysteries in the film. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I did <\/em>enjoy the impressive CGI effects in the movie, especially on Laurent and Larry Nicholas Bourgeois (AKA dancer\/designer duo “Les Twins”) who play a couple of aliens who could shift their bodies into a liquid metal form that could destroy anything<\/em>. It really is a light show. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hats off to Tessa Thompson whose character stands her ground as the newbie agent who says “no” to having to “seduce” an alien VIP on her first day on the job. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Way to go girl! Let’s keep things professional, shall we? <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special shout out to Kumail Nanjiani who voices a very loyal and deadpan “Pawny” an small alien who suddenly finds himself loyally serving Agent M. I wasn’t a fan of his design but he was so<\/em> funny, it was hard not to like him. Yes, he is there for comedic relief and it works! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7\/10 – not much for plot or edge of your seat suspense but if you’re looking for a couple of hours to just enjoy some action, good CGI and a few laughs (and if you’re a fan of the franchise and\/or aliens), then “Men In Black: International” is the film for you. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
