May 12th, 2023\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Singapore \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Breakout jazz artist and multi-instrumentalist\u00a0Laufey<\/strong>\u00a0has unveiled a new track\u00a0\u201cFrom The Start\u201d\u00a0<\/em>via\u00a0AWAL Recordings<\/strong>. \u201c\u2018From The Start\u2019 is a bossa nova inspired song about being in love with your best friend\u2026who is in love with someone else. I wrote the song to create a playful mix of old sounds with modern lyrics<\/em>,\u201d Laufey explains. Fans can listen to\u00a0“From The Start”<\/em>\u00a0here:\u00a0laufey.ffm.to\/fromthestart<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFrom The Start\u201d\u00a0<\/em>is the first taste of much more new original music to come from Laufey later this year. The song follows the release of\u00a0A Night At The Symphony<\/strong><\/a>\u2014a curated collection of songs Laufey recorded with the\u00a0Iceland Symphony Orchestra<\/strong>\u00a0during a sold-out two-night run at Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjav\u00edk last year. A Night At The Symphony features previously released tracks off her debut album\u00a0‘Everything I Know About Love’<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and her 2021 EP,\u00a0‘Typical of Me’<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, Laufey\u2019s recently announced headlining performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra this fall, as well as her entire summer tour in Australia and Asia, sold out in just minutes. She will also appear at various festivals this summer including Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta<\/strong>, Ottawa Jazz Festival<\/strong> and THING Festival<\/strong>.
