Philippine Cosplay King, Prince De Guzman landed his first acting role for a film on Janno Gibbs\u2019 first movie as a director, \u201cItutumba ka ng Tatay Ko\u201d which is showing in Philippine cinemas this January 24. He will be playing the “bad father”-Mr. Vasquez, father of the bully Ethan Vasquez played by Robbie Wachtel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prince De Guzman is known for his top tier cosplays like Pennywise from IT movie, Valak from The Nun 2, Piccolo from Dragonball Z and many more. The Filipino cosplayer also has a Youtube and Tiktok account with 1.6 Million subscribers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How was he cast? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prince: Janno Gibbs himself reached out to me and asked me if I could be part of his first film. That is one of the best days of my life because I am huge fan or Mr. Janno Gibbs and until now, I can\u2019t still imagine that I got to work with a person whom I\u2019ve admired for a very long time. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/em>How do you feel when you saw yourself on the big screen for the first time?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prince: <\/strong>The cast and some special guests saw the film at the red-carpet premiere. I was very emotional the entire film, not only because the movie is quality and delivered a roller coaster of emotions but being a cinephile who loves to act and portray, it\u2019s overwhelming to see yourself on the cinema screen. I was almost in tears when I saw my name in the main credits. I mean, the reason why I cosplayed is because I always dreamt of being an actor and to portray different characters on screen or onstage. My teenage dream happened that night.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you moving on from cosplay and will focus on your acting career?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prince: <\/strong>Being a cosplayer and content creator is something that I\u2019d always love to do and I will continue my passion for cosplay and story-telling through my video contents. But to be honest, I feel like it\u2019s healthy for me to finally try to reach my first love which is acting. In this film, I felt growth not just as an artist but as a person as well. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His scene is one of Janno Gibbs\u2019s most favorite scenes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prince: <\/strong>When I asked Janno Gibbs what was the scene that he is very excited for the audience to see, I was surprised that he and the film editors said that my scene is one of their top favorites. I cannot say much but my screentime is action packed with a very funny plot twist. I am so happy that this is my first film role because it\u2019s just so good and memorable.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
