Photo by LLDA.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MANILA, Philippines. \u2013 <\/strong>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jollibeegroup.com\/\">Jollibee Group<\/a> continues to strengthen its commitment to environmental stewardship by supporting sustainable projects such as the \u201cAbot-Kamay Para sa Laguna de Bay: Mission in Action\u2013Solid Waste Recovery\u201d of the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LLDA conducted the solid waste recovery activity in Barangay Sucat, Muntinlupa City last April 30, 2024, in celebration of Earth Day 2024. With the theme, \u201cPlanet vs. Plastics,\u201d this year\u2019s Earth Day urged for global awareness and efforts to reduce plastic production by 60 percent. The LLDA has been consistently supporting such environmental initiatives and has been focused on mitigating the adverse effects of plastic waste on Laguna de Bay and its surrounding ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Abot-Kamay campaign not only exemplifies a localized response to a global crisis but also serves as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards a cleaner and healthier Laguna de Bay for future generations,\u201d said LLDA Acting General Manager Atty. Senando Santiago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jollibee Group sent employee-volunteers from select stores of Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, and Burger King to participate in the said waste recovery activity. In addition, the Company also provided meals to all 200 volunteers from different organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pepot Mi\u00f1ana Jr., Jollibee Group Chief Sustainability and Public Affairs Officer, underscored the importance of the Company\u2019s active participation in these initiatives as a manifestation of its global sustainability agenda called Joy for Tomorrow: &#8220;As stewards of our environment, we recognize that our commitment to sustainability extends beyond the confines of our facilities, and requires collective action from all stakeholders. Participating in lake clean-up drives is a tangible expression of our dedication to preserving natural resources and safeguarding the communities we serve.
