Today, Australian pop-sensation Ruel<\/strong> shares his exhilarating new single \u201cI Can Die Now,\u201d<\/strong> available now via Giant Music<\/strong>. Produced and Co-written by GRAMMY-nominated Julian Bunetta<\/strong> (Sabrina Carpenter, One Direction) along with Ammo<\/strong> (Beyonc\u00e9, Britney Spears), JKash<\/strong> (Charlie Puth, Dua Lipa), Mark Schick<\/strong> (Nessa Barrett, Benson Boone) and Ed Drewett<\/strong> (Niall Horan), \u201cI Can Die Now\u201d is a high-energy, emotionally charged pop anthem that captures the dizzying rush of falling head over heels in love. This track provides the very first taste of what\u2019s to come from Ruel\u2019s highly anticipated sophomore album coming late 2025, setting the stage for his bold and expansive new chapter. LISTEN <\/strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Ruel will accompany the release with the official music video this Monday, July 21 – directed by s<\/strong>weetiepie<\/strong> (Neema Sadeghi + Ethan Frank) whose credits include Gracie Abrams, Role Model, and Lizzy McAlpine. It will make its broadcast premiere at 9am ET on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop, and on the Paramount Times Square billboards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song\u2019s tongue-in-cheek, highly engaging campaign is centered around a fictional medical diagnosis called \u201cIntense Conditional Desire Neurosis\u201d (ICDN) Syndrome<\/strong> – the concept stems from the single\u2019s surreal music video, which follows a love-struck, hospitalized Ruel slipping in and out of consciousness. Fans will be invited into this vivid world through immersive, interactive content and storytelling that brings the idea to life with humor and heart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate the release, Ruel is hosting a special pop-up event tomorrow night at LA\u2019s iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery<\/strong>, where he\u2019ll give the first live performance of \u201cI Can Die Now\u201d in the U.S. The song previously made its live debut during his Red Bull Symphonic shows in Sydney<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruel on the single: “I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever to get I Can Die Now out. I love the juxtaposition between the title and the theme and energy of the song – once you listen to it, you\u2019ll know what I mean. On top of that, ICDN is the first taste of what my new album <\/em>might<\/em> be like\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI Can Die Now\u201d was written during a session in Nashville and marks a defining moment in what\u2019s been a breakthrough year for Ruel. After moving to Los Angeles and signing with Giant Music<\/strong>, he tapped into a new wave of top-tier producers and songwriters, unlocking a bold new sound. The single captures the confidence and creative freedom driving this next chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The track follows a packed 2024, which saw Ruel release his 4th EP and first covers project, Adaptations<\/em><\/strong> as well as taking to the stage for his first-ever live appearance at Lollapalooza<\/strong> Chicago, which was an undeniable audience highlight. This festival debut adds to his already standout list of global domination, having already racked up four sold-out world tours, a performance at Tyler, the Creator<\/strong>\u2019s Camp Flog Gnaw<\/strong> and multiple guest appearances at Coachella<\/strong>, with artists such as SG Lewis<\/strong> and longtime collaborator Omar Apollo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n
