The latest movie from Cregger, writer\/director of cult hit \u201cBarbarian,\u201d has impressed critics \u2013 \u201cWeapons\u201d currently has a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. IGN described \u201cWeapons\u201d as \u201can absolutely delicious, scary-yet-funny blockbuster that never lets up\u2026 The mystery of a mass disappearance and its impact on a small town unfold in a fascinatingly layered way that gives every character a chance to shine; the wise decision to break their stories up into multiple, time-scrambling chapters creates multiple cliffhangers that set up a shattering finale.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SlashFilm was all praises as well. \u201cA wonderful mixture of bad vibes and macabre fun, \u2018Weapons\u2019 is one of the best horror movies of the year, and further confirmation that writer-director Zach Cregger is one of the most exciting voices in the genre right now,\u201d they wrote. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

AwardsWatch commended the film, too, calling it \u201ca chilling masterclass in suspense and POV storytelling that exposes a culture with dwindling empathy that tolerates dehumanizing acts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In their 5-star review of the movie, CinemaBlend described \u201cWeapons\u201d as the best horror movie in what has been a remarkable year for horror movies. \u201cIt\u2019s intimate while also being epic, it\u2019s scary while expertly utilizing humor as punctuation, and even the most dedicated cinephiles will be rocked by its surprises. It\u2019s perfect and a must-see,\u201d they wrote in their review. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
