Australian pop phenomenon Ruel<\/strong> announces the release of his highly anticipated sophomore album, Kicking My Feet,<\/em><\/strong> arriving October 17<\/strong> via Giant Music<\/strong>. Alongside this announcement, he shares a brand-new single, \u201cThe Suburbs\u201d<\/strong> – listen HERE<\/a> – a dreamy, emotionally rich bop with some of the industry’s top names involved in its making. Ruel took over Apple Music Radio yesterday from their brand-new Los Angeles studio, debuting \u201cThe Suburbs\u201d alongside two unreleased tracks and officially announcing Kicking My Feet<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Suburbs\u201d<\/strong> is written by Ruel <\/strong>with collaborators Fran Hall<\/strong> (Charli XCX, Kelly Clarkson), M-Phazes <\/strong>(Demi Lovato, Madonna), Chelsea Lena <\/strong>(Sabrina Carpenter, Joji) and Elias Danielsen<\/strong>. The song is an ode to intimacy and imagining a simpler life with the one you love. With lyrics like \u201cI can see us in the Suburbs, Never thought I\u2019d be that person, but with you it sounds like paradise\u201d<\/em> Ruel taps into a soft vulnerability that builds on the expansive pop vision he introduced with his previous single, \u201cI Can Die Now<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s been pretty daunting to offer up this level of honesty in my songwriting but seeing the way it\u2019s already connected so personally with fans has calmed my \u2018pre-album\u2019 nerves in a huge way – Ruel<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Released just a month ago, \u201cI Can Die Now<\/strong>\u201d set the stage for Kicking My Feet<\/em><\/strong> <\/em>in a big way. Premiering in New York\u2019s Times Square<\/strong> on MTV<\/strong>, the track hit over a million streams in just days, and earned immediate commendation from media outlets around the world. The A+ reviews came in thick and fast, including praise for ICDN as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026capturing \u201can all-encompassing love\u201d while hinting at the sonic direction of Ruel\u2019s forthcoming album, noting its \u201cpropulsive bass line\u201d and \u201cthudding percussion – Rolling Stone<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kicking My Feet<\/em> marks the start of a new era for Ruel; one that feels creatively liberated, emotionally nuanced, and sonically bolder than ever. After relocating from Sydney to Los Angeles and signing with Giant Music<\/strong>, Ruel immersed himself in a new creative ecosystem and began building the album from the ground up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I knew I wanted to push myself on this new album, but it wasn\u2019t until I had to finalise the track list that I realised I\u2019d actually made over 200 songs for Kicking My Feet – Ruel<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He worked closely with some of the industry\u2019s most celebrated and genre-shaping producers, including Julian Bunetta<\/strong> (Sabrina Carpenter, One Direction), Joel Little<\/strong> (Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams), Kenny Beats<\/strong> (Dominic Fike, Ed Sheeran), Dan Wilson<\/strong> (Adele, Taylor Swift, Chris Stapleton), and longtime collaborator M-Phazes<\/strong> (Eminem, Kehlani, Ruel\u2019s debut album). Together, they crafted a record that is sonically adventurous and deeply personal, blending pop, alt and R&B, into a cohesive, modern sound. The result is a genre-blurring, emotionally relatable album that reflects Ruel\u2019s evolution as both a person and an artist.<\/p>\n\n\n

Australia\u2019s pop prodigy Ruel<\/strong> is growing up and it shows on his highly anticipated sophomore album Kicking My Feet<\/strong>, available Oct 27 via Giant Music<\/strong>. Pop\u2019s newest It Boy has been on the rise since he was a teenager, adorning his studio walls are an ever-growing collection of platinum plaques and award statues from the likes of RIAA<\/strong>, MTV<\/strong>, ARIA<\/strong> and Nickelodeon<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has amassed over three billion streams<\/strong>, sold out multiple world tours and regularly attends fashion shows at the invitation of luxury haute couture such as Louis Vuitton<\/strong> and Herm\u00e8s<\/strong>.
