The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) is going beyond standard benefits by introducing its pioneering Cancer Care Leave Program, making it one of the first banks in the country to provide dedicated support for employees facing cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More than a workplace policy, the program reflects BPI\u2019s deep commitment to caring for its people\u2014acknowledging the emotional, physical, and financial challenges that come with cancer, and ensuring that employees and their families feel supported every step of the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Cancer Care Leave is a 15-day non-cash, non-cumulative paid leave granted to BPI employees who are diagnosed with cancer. It can be taken consecutively or on a staggered basis within the year of entitlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The benefit is available to employees who have already exhausted sick leave credits and can submit a medical certificate from a licensed oncologist confirming the diagnosis and required medical intervention. The application resets every year and only needs approval from the immediate supervisor and endorsement from Human Resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
