Manila, Philippines (May 23, 2026) – Crunchyroll, the brand serving anime fandom worldwide, revealed the winners of the tenth annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards during a star-studded  event honoring the creators, musicians, and performers powering the global love of anime. The landmark tenth Crunchyroll Anime Awards was again hosted by renowned voice actress Sally Amaki <\/strong>and popular entertainer Jon Kabira<\/strong>, who returned for their fourth year to celebrate a decade of excellence in Japanese animation and anime\u2019s biggest night.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of fans worldwide, Anime of the Year<\/strong> was awarded by The Weeknd<\/strong>. The global icon and long-time anime fan presented the night\u2019s highest honor to My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winners were revealed by a global slate of celebrity anime fan presenters including admired actor and generational voice Asuka Saito<\/strong>; K-pop artist BamBam<\/strong>, globally celebrated cosplayer Enako<\/strong>; award-winning Japanese actor Kasumi Arimura<\/strong>; electric comedic duo Mitorizu<\/strong>; acclaimed Japanese actor Nanase Nishino<\/strong>; leading Brazilian esports and gaming host Nyvi Estephan<\/strong>; prominent pan-India star Rashmika Mandanna<\/strong>; founding architect of Wu-Tang Clan RZA<\/strong>; K-pop singer and dancer TEN<\/strong>; globally acclaimed actor Winston Duke<\/strong>; and GRAMMY-nominated Recording Artist Young Miko.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Anime Awards pre-show, which was broadcast live from the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa, was co-hosted by Crunchyroll hosts Lauren Moore<\/strong> and Tim Lyu<\/strong> alongside prolific YouTube creator Gigguk<\/strong>.The show featured awards presented by acclaimed singer DANNA<\/strong>; contemporary musician Ethan Bortnick<\/strong>; Australian singer-songwriter hannah bahng<\/strong>;and creative cosplayer Snitchery<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The night began with an elegant visual journey honoring nearly a decade of Anime of the Year winners underlined by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra<\/strong>\u2014arranged by Kazunori Miyake and conducted by Hirofumi Kurita. Upon reaching the 2017 winner, DEAN FUJIOKA <\/strong>punctuated the moment with a performance of “History Maker,” from Yuri!!! on ICE<\/em>\u2014the very first Crunchyroll Anime Awards\u2019 Anime of the Year recipient. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The night also included electrifying music performances and tributes to anime\u2019s enduring impact on popular culture. Japanese singer Yoko Takahashi <\/strong>performed a 30th anniversary tribute to 1995\u2019s seminal anime Neon Genesis Evangelion <\/em>featuring the renowned theme \u201cA Cruel Angel\u2019s Thesis.\u201d PORNOGRAFFITTI <\/strong>performedin honor of My Hero Academia\u2019s <\/em>10th anniversary and the show\u2019s conclusion. Legendary rock band ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION<\/strong> performed their beloved hit \u201cHaruka Kanata\u201d\u2014the second opening theme for the seminal shounen series NARUTO<\/em>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the ceremony, visionary director Tatsuya Nagamine<\/strong> was honored with the Global Impact Award\u2014a recognition of his groundbreaking works that have left an indelible mark on culture, history, and the hearts of audiences around the world. Tatsuya Nagamine\u2019s directorial contributions had an unforgettable, long-lasting impact on beloved and globally influential series. From Ojamajo Doremi<\/em> and PreCure<\/em> to Dragon Ball Super<\/em> and ONE PIECE<\/em>, Nagamine-san played a role in how anime reaches global audiences, exemplifying the medium\u2019s ability to transcend geographic borders and generations.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tenth annual Anime Awards featured a tribute to Nagamine-san\u2019s storied career that preceded the presentation of the Global Impact Award by hosts Jon Kabira and Sally Amaki. Masayuki Sato\u2014an animator who worked closely with Director Nagamine on numerous projects, including Happiness Charge PreCure! <\/em>and ONE PIECE<\/em>, and with whom he shared a deep personal friendship\u2014accepted the Award on Nagamine-san\u2019s behalf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, a record 73 million votes were cast by fans worldwide to celebrate their favorite series, films, and actors. In alphabetical order, the top most engaged countries this year were Brazil, Germany, India, Mexico, and the United States. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
