The film, which follows a young gymnast navigating an unplanned pregnancy, was selected for wider global distribution thanks to its honest portrayal of women&#8217;s reproductive rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this acquisition, \u201cSunshine\u201d is poised to reach more audiences through licensing opportunities across streaming platforms, television broadcasters, in-flight entertainment services, and educational institutions worldwide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe selected \u2018Sunshine\u2019 as part of our inaugural film lineup as it sparked meaningful conversations about women\u2019s reproductive rights in a conservative country like the Philippines,\u201d said <strong>Avital Lavi, Head of Distribution at Alternativa Distribution. <\/strong>\u201cThis selection reflects our wider mission to champion thought-provoking films and ensure they are seen by audiences all over the world. This selection also includes films from Colombia, Brazil, India, Bangladesh, Mongolia, China, Iran, Mexico, and Georgia\u2014which have all gained acclaim at the Alternativa Film Festival, Cannes, Berlinale, CPH:DOX, and the Toronto International Film Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The label\u2019s debut film line-up includes &#8220;9-Month Contract,\u201d \u201cAfter the Rain,\u201d \u201cA Poet,\u201d \u201cBeing Olimpia,\u201d \u201cBird of a Different Feather,\u201d \u201cGrand Me,\u201d \u201cIf Only I Could Hibernate,\u201d \u201cSaba,\u201d and \u201cThe Nature of Invisible Things.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These films will form the foundation of Alternativa Distribution\u2019s growing international catalog of stories that matter, reaching audiences across Latin America, Asia, Africa,&nbsp; and the Middle East.
