{"id":8312,"date":"2016-07-15T01:55:00","date_gmt":"2016-07-15T01:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/teampcheng.wordpress.com\/2016\/07\/15\/movie-review-marauders"},"modified":"2016-07-15T01:55:00","modified_gmt":"2016-07-15T01:55:00","slug":"movie-review-marauders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.teampcheng.com\/blog\/uncategorized\/movie-review-marauders\/","title":{"rendered":"Movie Review: Marauders"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/-d3Qvp5ZgoW4\/V4qhz7oKMZI\/AAAAAAAANoc\/Pn0bDb-SULY\/s640\/blogger-image-512457778.jpg\" style=\"margin-left:1em;margin-right:1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/-d3Qvp5ZgoW4\/V4qhz7oKMZI\/AAAAAAAANoc\/Pn0bDb-SULY\/s640\/blogger-image-512457778.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><i>&#8220;Too many cooks, spoil the broth&#8221; <\/i>-apparently this not only applies to food (and in some specific situations in life) but in movies as well.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\">Despite having mystery and conspiracy at every corner, <b>&#8220;Marauders&#8221; <\/b>fails to capture its audience with too many characters with their own motives and agendas.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\">The film opens with an impressive (and disturbing) bank heist, complete with scary masks straight out of a horror movie, glass breaking and some shotgun action.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\">What follows is the run-of-the-mill FBI Investigation in perpetually raining Cincinatti.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\">The audience is then thrown in a complicated web of law enforcement, where FBI Special agents and corrupt cops don&#8217;t get along <i>(surprise, surprise).\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><i><br \/><\/i><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\">Investigation of the bank heist unearths long forgotten secrets and it seems that the masked perpetrators are not what they appear to be and the same goes for the <i>&#8220;supposed victim&#8221; <\/i>bank owner Jeffrey Hubert (Bruce Willis).\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\">As FBI Special Agent Jonathan Montgomery (Christopher Meloni) goes deeper in what becomes a series of bank heists and realizes too late that the root of the bank heists are closer to him than he thought.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\">\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/-tvj5dYyVI7A\/V4qhyLcwwhI\/AAAAAAAANoY\/pK0DGMd1fus\/s640\/blogger-image-1434171729.jpg\" style=\"margin-left:1em;margin-right:1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/-tvj5dYyVI7A\/V4qhyLcwwhI\/AAAAAAAANoY\/pK0DGMd1fus\/s640\/blogger-image-1434171729.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\">The film feels like a <i>long<\/i>\u00a0episode of NCIS and while there are juicy secrets to uncover and it&#8217;s fun to try and figure them out, the unravelling feels half-baked and the characters, which the writers and producers try too hard to have a sad back story, maybe so the audiences could like them more? Maybe to pull on some heart strings? Whatever the reason-it doesn&#8217;t work and just adds to unnecessary plot lines.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\">There are some stories which you love solving the mysteries to, unfortunately <b>&#8220;Mauraders&#8221; <\/b>isn&#8217;t one of them, as you seem to be getting a headache just trying to figure things out.<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear:both;\">With Bruce Willis.
