OPPO today released its 2025 Sustainability Report, highlighting the company’s progress in embedding sustainability across its corporate strategy, products, and operations as its business expanded to more than 90 countries and regions worldwide[1]. Through a five-pillar sustainability framework centered on Operations and Compliance, Environmental Protection, Caring for Employees, Virtuous Innovation, and Ecosystem Engagement, OPPO continues to foster a healthy and sustainable ecosystem.
Advancing Green Products and Low-Carbon Operations
OPPO integrate green development into the entire process of technological innovation, product R&D, production operations, and supply chain collaboration. As part of its commitment to green and low-carbon operations, OPPO conducts product life cycle assessments (LCAs) for smartphones to measure environmental impacts across sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, use, and end-of-life recycling. In 2025, OPPO completed LCAs for 23
smartphone models, supporting the development of more eco- and carbon-friendly product designs.
OPPO also continues to advance greener packaging by increasing the use of recycled and reduced-plastic materials. In 2025, recycled wastepaper materials were used in packaging for all OPPO products, accounting for approximately 43% of smartphone packaging materials[2]. Starting from Europe, the company also began replacing traditional plastics with paper-plastic materials made from plant fibers and waste paper. In 2025, these alternatives accounted for approximately 14% of smartphone packaging materials used in the region.
Beyond products, OPPO continues to reduce emissions across its operations and value chain while accelerating the adoption of renewable energy. Over the past three years, carbon emissions from OPPO’s own operations have declined year-on-year, falling by a further 1.22% in 2025. OPPO also completed a comprehensive Scope 3 emissions inventory across eleven key categories, with a 2.57% year-on-year drop in Scope 3 emissions. Meanwhile, renewable electricity uses across OPPO manufacturing bases increased by nearly 70%, further supporting the company’s carbon reduction efforts.
Virtuous Innovation for Digital Inclusion and Healthier Lifestyles
Guided by its mission, “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World,” OPPO continues to turn technological innovation into practical solutions that advance digital inclusion and healthier lifestyles. This is supported by an extensive portfolio of patents that stood at 118,000 patent applications and 66,000 patent grants as of the end of 2025.
To improve digital inclusion, OPPO has integrated accessibility design into ColorOS to make smartphones easier to use for those with visual, hearing, and motor impairments. In 2025, OPPO further optimized more than 30 core ColorOS apps to enhance accessibility across everyday user scenarios. For users with visual impairments, ColorOS helps convert on-screen content into audio through features such as TalkBack and Image Description, while tools such as magnification, color correction and color inversion help improve screen readability. For users with hearing impairments, ColorOS provides visual aids such as speech-to-text transcription and flash alerts. OPPO also continues to integrate intelligent technology across its products to support healthier lifestyles. In 2025, the OPPO Fitness Health Laboratory in Binhaiwan officially began operation as the company’s largest sports health research base worldwide, focusing on areas such as exercise, cardiovascular health, sleep health, and lifestyle management. Through both internal research capabilities and partnerships with leading medical and academic institutions, the lab advances smart health innovation across cognitive health, weight management, blood pressure management, and AI health management, turning research into accessible features that make everyday health management more personalized, convenient, and proactive.

Driving Cultural Sustainability with Global Partnerships
In 2025, OPPO contributed more than 37 million RMB to public welfare initiatives and continued working with a range of partners to support education, cultural preservation, and community resilience worldwide. For the second consecutive year, OPPO collaborated with the Discovery Channel on the “Culture in a Shot” initiative, promoting cultural diversity and cross-cultural understanding through mobile photography. Under the theme “Celebrate the Moment”, the initiative spotlights diverse festivals and traditions across fifteen countries, while encouraging users worldwide to capture and share cultural diversity through their own lenses, bringing traditional culture to life in contemporary ways.

2025 also saw OPPO deepen its collaboration with UNESCO to empower educational equity and digital inclusion. Through the collaboration, OPPO donated 1,000 tablets to support education in information technology for young people in five countries across Asia and Africa. In Thailand, these tablets are being used by teachers and students to study and practice computer programming, while across Africa, where hardware shortages have long hindered digital education, the tablets are helping expand access to technology and create new opportunities for young people.

Through its long-term partnership with UEFA, OPPO also continues to support the development of sport culture and sporting talent worldwide. In 2025, the company launched multiple sports charity projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, supporting local communities and local talent development initiatives.
In the future, OPPO will continue to invest in innovation and organizational capabilities that enable it to bring exceptional products to people worldwide while helping to create a more sustainable future for all.
