Cosplayers bring ‘ARCANE’ to life with insane photoshoot

There is definitely ‘no misery’ with this straight-up from the small screen to full out production ‘Arcane” cosplay from this group of local cosplayers. Last year, Netflix’s Arcane: League of Legends was the talk of the town, earning praise from fans of critics- from the animation, to the captivating story.

Based on the popular League of Legends game, the Netflix Arcane series tells the origin of two iconic League champions (estranged sisters, Vi and Jinx). The story is set in the utopian City of Piltover and the underground, oppressed slums of Zaun.

The series has the highest Rotten Tomato user score of a perfect and FRESH 100% rating, the highest IMDB score of 9.1 of any Netflix original series. It also received one of IGN’s first perfect 10/10 rating. Wow! Truly impressive indeed! I for one enjoyed the series and believe it deserves all the critical acclaim.

It wasn’t just the critics who were happy but the fans lauded the series’ distinct animation style, and powerful storytelling. The series also carries themes of abuse, mental illness, childhood trauma and the realities of social inequalities.

The love for ARCANE has had fans do their own cosplay of the characters they have come to love, but there hasn’t been a cosplay like what these group of local cosplayers have come up with.

Check out these photos of Arcane characters, Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, Viktor and antagonist Silco.

The group, has been preparing for this epic cosplay since November last year and the care and time to prepare it, shows in the details and craftsmanship of their costumes and props.

Of course, its not just costumes and props to make a successful cosplay production ~ you also need make-up, lighting and post-processing to capture the unique color grade and tone of the show.

Shot at the Zeppelin Lounge, the photos were taken by Erving Go and Kira Hokuten.

Cosplayers are: Zackt as Silco, Roxanne Kho as Jinx, Nicola Ber as Vi, Ju Garcia as Caitlyn and Cholo Tolentino as Viktor.
