After a breakout year that saw his first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 and a sold-out international headline tour spanning three continents, Malcolm kicked off 2026 with “Breathe,” his highest debut ever reaching the top 50 on Spotify day one. Now Malcolm Todd is back to tease more of what’s to come with the drop of a new single “I Saw Your Face.” A meditation on ending a relationship you know isn’t right and grieving it anyway, the song captures something true and hard to say–just because leaving was your choice doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt. The single comes alongside a music video co-directed by Malcolm Todd and Aidan Cullen. The video comments on masculinity unraveling. Man vs. cutting an onion, Malcolm vs. his sensitivity… the joke lands but the feeling is real to all the men out there. There is even a standoff in the video between Malcolm and a giant onion.
At 22, Todd has quickly emerged as one of alternative pop’s most compelling young artists, hailed by Rolling Stone as both a “knockout” and “a new kind of male pop star.” “His self-titled debut album Malcolm Todd has accumulated more than 600 million global streams since its release last year, propelled by the breakout RIAA certified Platinum single “Chest Pain (I Love),” which earned Todd his first Billboard Hot 100 entry and has tallied over 350 million streams worldwide. Before that, Todd introduced himself with his 2024 mixtape Sweet Boy – and two years later, the project has taken on a life of its own: the RIAA certified gold “Earrings,” “Sweet Boy,” and “Roommates” have all surged back into Spotify’s Top 100 simultaneously, driven almost entirely by organic fan rediscovery. “Earrings” has climbed to #40 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is currently #6 on the Spotify US Charts and top 50 on the Spotify Global Charts. It has also entered the Spotify charts in Southeast Asia: Top 20 in Singapore, Top 200 in Malaysia and the Philippines. The reach of “Chest Pain (I Love)” extended further earlier this year when Don Toliver prominently sampled it on his hit “E85,” which climbed to No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and currently tops the Hot Rap Songs chart.
The album’s momentum carried directly onto the stage with Todd completing the sold-out Wholesome Rockstar Tour, selling more than 100K tickets in 2025. Standout festival sets at Camp Flog Gnaw, Pitchfork Paris, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits have confirmed Todd as one of music’s most compelling young frontmen, performing with an easy charm that translates his breakout songs into crowd-sized moments. Malcolm also took the late-night stage, making his debut performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! For 2026, Todd has already been announced on tastemaking festivals Outside Lands and Osheaga.
