Last July 11, Silent Sanctuary frontman Sarkie Sarangay joined fellow songwriters as one of the featured speakers at the FILSCAP Master Lecture Series at Trinoma Cinema 1. Organized by FILSCAP, the event brought together members and non-members of the songwriting community for an afternoon of learning and creative exchange, where aspiring and established music creators explored the craft behind writing songs that resonate across generations. Drawing from his own experiences as a composer and performer, Sarangay shared the lessons, challenges, and inspirations that continue to shape his music.
Leaving participants with a message of encouragement, Sarangay said: “Mahalin n’yo ang music at mamahalin niya kayo pabalik. Walang mahirap sa mga taong nagpa-practice at dedicated sa music.”
The lecture comes at a meaningful time as Silent Sanctuary prepares for their Gabi ng Lambing concert on October 25 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Tickets were sold out in just five hours, leading the band to add a “reverse” Day 2, which will happen on October 24, also at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
As the band gears up for this milestone, Sarangay’s message at the FILSCAP Master Lecture Series serves as a reminder that every unforgettable song begins with passion, dedication, and a willingness to keep creating.
