So this image was shot during the Alita: Battle Angel Press Screening, Jan. 31 2019. It was a fun movie to watch, check out the movie review here.

So during the screening we have Awie, who cosplayed Alita. She looked great and looks very much like Alita. I already asked her fiance, in advance that I’ll ask for a bit of time to shoot her.

There were 2 spots to shoot in; The 1st spot, was tight. It was so tight that I can only shoot half-body portaits. 2nd spot, is the one that I used for my shots. I can shoot wide and get a full body shot. Both shooting spots, had horrible LED lights that looked like horror lights that are really intense and coming from the floor.

Upon arriving the in the venue, I had to pull out my equipment in no particular order: Canon 6d, Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, Yongnuo YN-E3 RT, Yongnuo YN600EX-RT, and a small soft box. I was scrambling to get the soft box on the flash.

I hailed Awie, and Prince(her fiance), directed them to spot #2. Stopped down the ambient exposure to get enough exposure just a tad bit. Then I used the flash with soft box positioned camera right 1st to get this.

I asked Prince to move camera left and got a better shot. I couldn’t be happier with the output.

Hopefully next time, I’d have more time and a series of varied shots.
