Isn’t It Romantic Movie Review

Netflix sure knows what to do in their romantic Comedies, last year they gave us “Set It Up” which rekindled our love with the genre and of course gave us “Internet Boyfriend” Noah Centineo in “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before”.

This year they are giving the Romantic Comedy a fun spin by doing a pardoy in “Isnt it Romantic?” which stars Rebel Wilson as Natalie, who as a child was taught that girls like her, who don’t have a Million dollar smile like Julia Roberts, or a mane of beautiful hair will never find love like the ones in Romantic Comedies.

So Nat grows up as an Architect in New York City, in a not so nice apartment with a dirty dog who doesn’t follow her, but the real problem is that everyone takes advantage of her and treats her badly (and she lets them)!

After hitting her head she wakes up and realises that she’s stuck in a Romantic Comedy and a PG one at that, where she can’t curse or even enjoy a proper bed scene.

Nat is convinced that when she gets the hunky Australian to fall in love with her then she can go back to her mundane but very real life.

It’s amusing to see the film make fun of all the clichés and troupes in Romantic Comedies, from the gay best friend to the catty female colleague, make over montages and yes, even the super feel good songs.

Despite the satirical take on RomComs there’s a surprising message about love in the end.

With a hilarious cast led by Rebel Wilson, Liam Hemsworth, Adam Devine and Prianka Chopra.

“Isnt it Romantic” is a fun stay at home Netflix watch especially if you’re just looking for some good vibes and a good laugh, oh and can we please have more musical numbers in the end of movies?
