Gareth Fernandez returns with new single “Could Have Been Us”

Gareth Fernandez takes you to a place of soulful warmth with the release of his new song, Could Have Been Us—released today via Where Are The Fruits.

A spiritual successor to 2019’s rousing tune “Achilles,” and 2020’s achingly tender ballad “Put You Through,” Gareth Fernandez’s “Could Have Been Us” is co-written with acclaimed singer-songwriter Linying (Sticky Leaves, Paris 12), who lends her hauntingly beautiful vocals to the track.

With Shaykhandbake returning as producer, “Could Have Been Us” features tender piano lines, and is enveloped by a rich, gospel-style choir.

While “Achilles” deconstructed our egos, and “Put You Through” challenged us to acknowledge our faults in our pasts, “Could Have Been Us” retreads these heartbreaks one last time, before setting them aflame and bidding them farewell.
