A few days into the new year and we still have no idea how things will be in the next few months-heck some of us are still trying to process 2020!
2020 – the year that was, was so bizarre for most of us, we never realized our every day life can be turned upside down almost in an instant! The pandemic has all affected us in different ways, for myself as a content creator whose niche is Pop Culture and who writes reviews for movies and series, part of my routine is going to the cinemas at least once a week and attending events and conventions. Of course, all of that went out the window once the pandemic hit.
As the first few months of a worldwide pandemic rolled in, I, along with the rest of the world had no idea how the movies and cinemas were going to operate in a world with Covid (turns out they -weren’t) so I honestly wasn’t sure on how to proceed with my 2020 reviews.
For reference, I would organize movies I’ve seen with mini reviews I’ve written (since these are submitted to film distributors) by year on Facebook albums -pretty ironic eh? Considering 2020 was going to be a shit storm year. I didn’t realize it yet at the time but I actually stopped or failed to do these movie reviews because I was angry with 2020, I was in denial of what was happening.
I have this tendency to close my eyes and deny that there is a problem (not all problems, just some that I don’t have the headspace to face at the moment). I’m kind of like an ostrich and have this tendency to stick my head in the sand until the problem goes away. I guess, with the current pandemic and its effect on the movie industry I didn’t know how long my head was going to be staying in the sand.
So here we are about to end the first week of 2021 and I’m still writing my 2020 list. I think this is more for posterity and you know as a pretty neat throwback to you know, that year when the whole world went to shit.
Series and Movies part of my top list will be marked with an *
Goes to show, it pays to keep a planner where I list down stuff I want to see, things I plan to write about and you know, stuff I actually do get to write about.
So here we go….!
