The pandemic has caused us to miss out on many of our hobbies and the activities and events that go with them-such as conventions.
Before, geeks, gamers, cosplayers, artists and hobbyists would prepare for months to feature a new art or cosplay in a convention, but because of the pandemic, we have been quarantined in our homes and missing events, conventions and friends, who we share the same hobbies and passions with. And while, SDCC at Home and DC FanDome have done their own variation of the “convention at home” experience; Pinoy Streaming app “kumu” is bringing its own unique flavor to the mix by bringing kumu NERD EXPO to fans at home.
The online nerd expo will feature some of the country’s leading geeks, gamers, artists and cosplayers to showcase their talent and knowledge on Pop Culture.
What makes kumu unique from other online conventions is its unique Filipino flavor (the app was created by Pinoys for Pinoys) and the capability to be able to interact with streamers. Fans can chat with their favorite gamers, cosplayers and artists and they can also give them virtual gifts to show their support!
Con-goers can expect streams on anime, gaming, art,comics, toys, cosplay, among others. There will also be performances, parties, giveaways and geeks sharing their passion and craft to friends and fans. Some streamers will also be featuring their collection while others will be discussing the biggest geek questions!
The event will be on September 27 from 12nn to 12mn and will feature over 80+ streamers!
To join in the fun, all you have to do is to download the kumu app, create a profile and you’re all set to go!
We may be stuck at home but that doesn’t mean that we need to be alone, we may be missing out on the traditional convention experience but it just means that we have to think out of the box and create new (virtual yet still, genuine) experiences and kumu makes all that possible.
