The milestone gathering highlights Himbon’s creative journey and
Festive Walk Iloilo’s role in supporting cultural spaces for the region.

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Festive Walk Iloilo reaffirmed its role as a home for culture, creativity, and community as it partnered with Himbon Contemporary Ilonggo Artists Group for the launch of the collective’s first-ever coffee table book and art exhibition on July 5, 2026, at the mall’s Main Activity Center.
The event marked Himbon’s eighth year and celebrated the group’s artistic journey through the 110-page Himbon Coffee Table Book, a publication that documents its artists, artworks, exhibitions, accomplishments, and contributions to the contemporary art landscape of Iloilo and Western Visayas.

The launch was attended by Iloilo City Councilor Nene dela Llana, Provincial Information and Community Affairs Officer Nereo Lujan, Iloilo Business Club President Ma. Luisa Segovia, Department of Justice Regional Prosecutor Louie Doligosa, Himbon advisers Ed Defensor and Prof. Martin Genodepa, cultural advocates, founding members, participating artists, and members of Iloilo’s creative community.
Himbon, derived from the Hiligaynon word meaning “to come together and assemble,” was founded in September 2017 by Gina Apostol, Marrz Capanang, Vic Fario, and Harry Mark Gonzales. It has since grown into one of Iloilo’s largest multidisciplinary artists’ organizations, bringing together creatives from Panay and Guimaras across painting, sculpture, digital art, literature, theater, music, and other disciplines.

For Festive Walk Iloilo, the partnership reflects its continuing commitment to opening spaces where local art and culture can be seen, shared, and celebrated by the wider community. Through initiatives such as the Himbon book launch and exhibition, Festive Walk Iloilo helps bring Ilonggo creativity closer to more people while supporting the cultural movements shaping the region.
As Himbon enters its ninth year, its first coffee table book stands as both a record of its achievements and a lasting tribute to the artists who continue to shape contemporary art in Iloilo and Western Visayas.
