Canon PH officially launches the Canon EOS RP

Was fortunate enough to be a part of the launch of the Canon EOS RP last night at Xylo in BGC. I have been following the camera since Canon announced that they would be releasing their entry level full frame mirrorless camera. Along with this, they also released a series of RF lenses and a Mini Photo Printer.

It was quite an event with Canon head honchos, brand ambassadors, influencers and other VIPs that were in attendance as they unveiled the EOS RP and its’ capabilities.

To cap the night we heard Karen Dela Fuente and Jilson Tiu talk about how they shot with the Canon EOS RP and utilized it in their own niche.

Karen Dela Fuente a music and lifestyle photographer. Who is popular among music enthusiasts and concert goers in the country. Her style includes using multiple exposures, and she also shoots astro-photography when she goes out of town.

Jilson Tiu is a street photographer, and photojournalist that shows a colored and vivid style often lacking in street photography. Normally we see black and white when it comes to street photography but Jilson breaks the mold and works his magic with the EOS RP and trusty L Lens. Check out more of Jilson’s Instagram feed here.

I’m quiet excited for Canon’s bold move to commit and go all in with mirrorless cameras. Now that they have 2 lines of full frame mirrorless bodies and with range of RF lenses, it’s safe to say that Canon will be in the running in the future.
