Netflix Highlights Variety of Indian Slate with 41 New Films, Series, Documentaries, Comedy, and Reality Shows at See What’s Next India Event

Mumbai – 3 March, Joined by an all star line-up of talent and creators from across India, Netflix today announced its lineup of films, series, documentaries, comedy and reality series that will release in the coming months. Netflix has been in India for the last five years, opened their office in Mumbai three years ago, and roughly two and a half years ago they premiered their first Indian original series, Sacred Games. The latest collection represents the variety and diversity of Netflix’s growing slate of Indian stories.

  • Hosted by Ranvijay Singha, See What’s Next India looked at Netflix’s journey in India from Sacred Games and Lust Stories and now to films and series like Ludo, AK vs AK, and Jamtara: Sabka Number Aayega, the launch of Netflix’s first mobile plan, and the most recent addition of a full Hindi user interface.
  • Monika Shergill, Netflix’s VP of Content for India, took to the stage and shared her vision for Netflix in India, to collaborate with creators from all corners of the country and tell stories that connect with our members in India and around the world. Previewing the slate of 41 films and series and more, Shergill underscored Netflix’s commitment to the creative community in India.
  • Netflix first shared the lineup of new series and the ones that will return on Netflix with new seasons. This was followed by an insightful discussion on what it takes to bring a Netflix series to life; joined by Ashvini Yardi, Raveena Tandon, Imtiaz Ali, and Puneet Krishna.
  • Following the panel, Netflix share a glimpse of its line up of comedy, documentaries and reality series
  • And finally, Netflix unveiled its upcoming line up of blockbuster films. To discuss why Netflix is the home for films, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vivek Gomber, Karan Johar, and Amala Paul came together with Netflix’s Director of International Original Film, Srishti Behl Arya.
